This role is responsible to maintain our business as usual processes during our implementation and transition to a new HRMS system. This will include answering ad-hoc HRMS queries and ad-hoc report requests. This role is responsible to collaborate with all departments, and support the HRMS team with additional duties as required.

 

Salary :  $83,000 to $95,000 annually (Vancouver only)

 

The offered salary may vary based on the candidate’s job-specific knowledge, skills, and experience.

 

The HRMS Analyst position can be based out of Toronto, Calgary or Vancouver. McCarthy Tétrault employees benefit from a hybrid work environment.


As a HR Systems Analyst, you will be:

  • Monitoring and owning the Service Now ticket system and the email inbox and answering inquiries while coordinating with the colleagues withing the HR Department.
  • Building reports, completing analysis, visualization, and presenting reports. Maintaining database integrity through auditing and modifying firm reports through established criteria.
  • Understanding time and attendance and answering queries about balances. Including auditing and correcting Vacation balances for staff.
  • Completing overtime forms and ensuring they are compliant with Firm Policies.
  • Staying current and up to date on all system releases and ensuring proper compliance with internal policies and process. Focusing on continuous innovation; utilizing analytical tools to provide data driven insights and providing recommendations to management team regarding procedural enhancements.
  • Maintaining processes, systems, procedures, documentation, and materials to support all modules within HRMS with the exception of the Payroll module.
  • Defining, validating, and maintaining compliance of HR data integrity in collaboration with HR systems teams.
  • Reporting, validating data and reports; identifying/correcting errors and recommending solutions.
  • Collaborating with the Data Analyst and System Admin on data and reporting inquiries to ensure the best solution to the business problem.
  • Managing templates and populating with critical employee data, importing into the HRMS system and conducting system validation.
  • Addressing and troubleshooting ad-hoc queries and issues from all internal employees and third party consultants.
  • Serving as second/third level support in incident resolution related to HRMS.
  • Acting as a back up to the System Analyst and Senior Data Analyst.
  • Providing advice on opportunities to improve performance / capacity and to mitigate risk of HRMS application services.

As our ideal candidate, you will distinguish yourself by the following profile:

  • Familiarity using various HRIS systems to navigate extract data, writes report queries etc.; knowledge of UKG and the employee lifecycle in UKG.
  • Minimum 3 years in working within an HRMS plus using complex tools such as Cognos BI.
  • SQL and Power BI is an asset.
  • Certification, diploma or Bachelor degree in data science, computer science; Business Intelligence background considered a strong asset.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
  • Data presentation.
  • Excel functions (such as VLOOKUP, PowerPivot, etc.).
  • Data validation between multiple data sets.
  • High attention to detail and analytical capabilities.
