We are recruiting for an Applications Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3–5 years of experience in application support and delivery and will be responsible for supporting and enhancing enterprise applications, delivering application upgrades and integrations, collaborating with business and IT stakeholders, providing second/third-level operational support, and driving continuous improvement while adhering to ITIL, security, and compliance standards. Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000 annually

As an Applications Analyst, you will:

  • Application Portfolio: Participate in the analysis, configuration, testing, and implementation of updates, enhancements or new features for various software applications, ensuring solutions align with user requirements and business objectives. This includes overseeing the application lifecycle from planning and development through deployment and support.
  • Project Delivery: Participate in projects related to application upgrades, integrations, or deployments. Work with external vendors (Microsoft and 3rd party solution providers) and internal IT teams to plan and execute system upgrades or patches, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with IT teams and business stakeholders to gather and clarify business requirements. Help translate requirements into technical specifications and collaborate with cross-functional teams (developers, vendors, and end-users) to support the implementation of application changes or new solutions. Clearly communicate application capabilities and constraints to ensure shared understanding.
  • Operation Support: Monitor application performance and availability on a daily basis, troubleshoot issues promptly, and implement solutions to maximize system reliability and user satisfaction. Ensure that any incidents or problems are resolved and properly documented, with steps taken to prevent recurrence. Act with discretion to address major incidents during critical periods, including outside regular hours when necessary, to maintain application stability and support business continuity.
  • Documentation & Knowledge: Develop and maintain detailed documentation for application configurations, processes, and procedures. Create knowledge articles and provide knowledge transfer sessions.
  • Compliance: Adhere to ITIL best practices, security policies, and standards for the Application Portfolio. Ensure that the systems meet corporate and regulatory requirements for data security and privacy.
  • Team Contribution & Collaboration: Act as a collaborative technical resource within the Applications team. Share expertise with peers, assist colleagues when needed, and contribute to team processes and quality standards. Support the Manager, Applications by providing input on application lifecycle activities and participating in team initiatives that enhance overall service delivery.
  • Security Collaboration: Collaborates with the Security team to support security‑related processes, including participating in security reviews, vulnerability remediation efforts, access reviews, and compliance activities as they relate to assigned applications.  Provides application‑specific information, documentation, and operational support to help ensure applications align with established security controls and policies.
  • Quality Assurance Collaboration: Works with Quality Assurance teams to support testing and validation processes, including assisting with test device prepartion, issue reproduction, defect resolution, and post change validation. Ensures application changes adhere to defined quality standards by supporting testing cycles and responding to QA findings as required.
  • Continuous Improvement: Support the Manager, Applications in Identifying opportunities to enhance application performance, reliability, and user experience. Conducting trend analysis on recurring incidents and user feedback to suggest process improvements or training that could reduce future issues. Proactively propose small-scale enhancements or automation to improve efficiency in managing the applications. Stay up-to-date with relevant technology trends and updates (especially within the Microsoft ecosystem) to continuously improve support practices and recommend innovative solutions over time.
  • Applications Support: Following ITIL incident and problem management best practices as second/third level support in incident resolution related to applications, with a focus on escalated issues, root cause analysis, and major/high priority incidents.

As our ideal candidate, you will distinguish yourself by the following profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field – or equivalent practical experience in information technology.
  • Approximately 3–5 years of progressive IT experience, preferably including hands-on application support or development in a business environment.
  • Broad technical knowledge across modern IT environments – including Azure & 3rd party cloud services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), enterprise software (Microsoft 365 platform), networking and security principles Experience with the full software development lifecycle and IT service management processes. Practical experience following ITIL processes for support/operations is expected; ITIL certification or training is a plus.
  • Experience with ITIL framework for support and operations; Agile/DevOps methodology experience for solution delivery (ITIL or Agile/DevOps certifications are an asset).
  • Experience in a cloud-first and AI-focused organization (or consulting/professional services background) is an asset.
  • Experience in a professional services or consulting organization is an asset, as it provides insight into managing business-critical applications in a demanding, client-focused environment.
  • Working experience supporting Windows operating systems and the Microsoft Office / M365 suite
  • Working experience with Microsoft Intune and SCCM
  • Working experience administering Microsoft Active Directory and Azure AD
  • Working experience using Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate).
  • Working experience with the Application System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Working experience with PowerShell.
  • Knowledge of JavaScript / Typescript, C# / .NET, Python and other programming languages is an asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to actively contribute in discussions, and share ideas clearly and professionally.
  • Demonstrated ownership of tasks and projects, taking initiative to drive work to completion beyond the minimum requirements. Candidates should be proactive in identifying solutions or improvements.
  • Demonstrates strategic thinking and sound problem-solving skills when navigating complex or ambiguous situations.
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent pieces of work, and appropriately applying judgment about the prioritization of effort.
  • Maintains composure and effectiveness under pressure, delivering results within tight timelines when required.
  • Ability to acquire, apply and maintain a body of knowledge related to the field.
  • Bilingualism an asset (French and English).
