This role will support our implementation and transition to a new HRMS system, Workday. This role will collaborate with all departments, our external implementation partner, and support the HRMS and Workday project implementation team with additional duties as required.
As a Senior Workday Analyst, you will:
- Act as a Workday SME and support the implementation of Workday and eventual operational maintenance and ongoing process improvements across any active modules (e.g., HCM, PATT, Talent & Performance, Learning, Advanced & Core Compensation, including required Security and Tenant Management).
- Understand system and process implications (conduct downstream system analysis), identify gaps/opportunities, recommend and build scalable solutions best for McCarthy, including end-to-end employee lifecycle processes and master data tables (such as organizational and job structures).
- Partner cross-functionally with HR, IT, Finance, and other teams to understand business needs, identify user pain points, and translate these into requirements.
- Support testing activities with SMEs and testing leads to ensure they sign off on their relevant modules, for example: partnering on the creation of test scenarios, supporting the execution of testing, fixing defects and escalating risks.
- Work with change management and training leads on the documentation of process and system changes, drafting/updating communications and training guides.
- Ensure data integrity within Workday and downstream systems through ongoing validation and audit processes and analyses.
- Drive innovation within Workday, exploring new functionalities, third-party integrations, and creative solutions that move forward McCarthy Tetrault’s innovation strategy.
- Integrations: Manages the maintenance, delivery and support of existing and new integrations and functionality.
- Report Writing: Create, maintain, and process standard and custom ad-hoc reports and dashboards, to meet business needs.
- Day-to-day Operations: Work to resolve issues, system troubleshooting, fix bugs as a part of Tier 2 HRIS support in Workday.
As our ideal candidate, you will distinguish yourself by the following profile:
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Information Technology, or equivalent experience preferred.
- Minimum 5-7 years configuration experience in Workday in any of the following modules; HCM, PATT, Core & Advanced Compensation, Benefits, Talent, Performance and Learning, WD Release Management, Security, Reporting, Tenant Management, Integrations.
- Deep knowledge of people processes and best practices, and a passion for aligning technology solutions to business goals and user needs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven track record of successfully navigating complex technical challenges and driving meaningful solutions that enhance our digital people experience.
- Advanced Excel skills working with large data sets utilizing advanced formulas and functionality.
- Excellent research and problem-solving skills, taking the initiative for ongoing learning within Workday.
- Demonstrates the qualities of a self-starter to identify process improvements, manage issues, and resolve roadblocks independently.
- Exceptional time management, project planning, and communication skills, both verbal & written.
- Ability to autonomously follow-up on tasks, files and or delayed work without prompting, individually and as a part of a team.
