This role will support our implementation and transition to a new HRMS system, Workday. This role will collaborate with all departments, our external implementation partner, and support the HRMS and Workday project implementation team with additional duties as required.
As a Workday Analyst, you will:
- Act as a Workday SME by understanding system and process implications, identifying gaps/opportunities and recommending scalable solutions best for McCarthy as we build foundational architecture in Workday, including end-to-end employee lifecycle processes and master data tables (such as organizational and job structures).
- Support the program delivery for Workday Core HCM, PATT (Canadian Payroll, Absence, Time Tracking), Core & Advanced Compensation, Benefits, Talent, Performance and Learning modules, Data Conversion, including various integrations to our downstream systems.
- Support the documentation of business requirements and workbooks.
- Support testing activities – Unit, End to End, Parallel, including documentation of defects, retesting, investigating issues, and escalating risks from a functional and cross-functional perspective.
- Ensure data integrity within Workday and downstream systems through validation and audit processes and analyses.
- Assist in change management and training activities such as documentation of process and policy changes, drafting communications and training guides (including system documentation and user guides).
- Act as a key member of our HRMS support team in answering queries related to Workday post go-live.
- Assist in the planning, testing, and rollout of post go-live activities.
As our ideal candidate, you will distinguish yourself by the following profile:
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Information Technology, or equivalent experience preferred.
- 5 years hands-on HRIS experience in Workday (preference given to Workday and/or relevant module implementation experience); HCM, PATT (Canadian Payroll, Absence, Time Tracking), Core & Advanced Compensation, Benefits, Talent, Performance and Learning.
- Advanced Excel skills working with large data sets utilizing advanced formulas and functionality.
- Strong understanding of HR functional areas in relation to HRIS, as well as experience systemizing HR processes and procedures.
- Ability to translate complex and vague HR requirements into actionable items and design solutions that enhance our digital people experience.
- Excellent research and problem-solving skills.
- Able to identify process improvements, manage issues, and resolve roadblocks independently.
- Demonstrates the qualities of a self-starter who follows through on tasks start to finish.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to work well and collaborate in a team environment.
- Exceptional time management, project planning, and communication skills, both verbal & written.
- Experience with system integrations and data migrations.
- Analytical mindset for determining when software changes should be made and how systems can be made more efficient.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. End-to-end problem-solving.
- Able to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment and to maintain a professional attitude.
- Able to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Strong internal client service experience; demonstrated capabilities in providing a partner service including key communication skills of influencing, negotiation and compromising.
- Ability to ensure follow-up on tasks, files and or delayed work without prompting (autonomously).
- Comfortable navigating the grey and being resourceful.
- Has the initiative and desire for on-going learning, innovation and developing skills in new areas.
