As a Specialist, Clients and Markets (Market Recognition), you will be :
Ranking and Awards
- Maintaining and improving the firm’s reputation through the evaluation and participation in awards, rankings, publishing opportunities and other external recognitions.
- Developing reviews and recommendations related to awards, directories, publishing and other recognition opportunities, ensuring brand consistency and evaluating reputational impact of win.
- Working closely with other practices and industry leaders to prepare (research and write) the development of persuasive Firm, lawyer and client submissions to leading industry ranking and award organizations. Coordinating ranking research interviews and developing interview preparation sheets. Making edits to submissions and coordinating approvals as required.
- Supporting surveys and processes to obtain lawyer rankings.
- Becoming the in-house expert on select directories.
- Supporting the analysis and entry of submission results and maintaining the firm’s awards rankings and testimonials database.
- Assisting with communication plans including drafting news announcements related to directories and awards.
- Drafting and sending firm-wide emails regarding directory requests.
- Preparing and submitting directory profiles (Chambers, Lexpert, Legal 500)
Deals and Cases Experience Database
- Implementing and executing effective processes to support consistent and accurate collection, verification, management and reporting of key business information (transactions and case data).
- Liaising with lawyers, Clients and Markets team, and third parties to prepare and deliver timely business information in a variety of formats.
- Tracking the firm’s transaction and case information in the Deals & Cases Database.
- Researching external information using tools such as mergermarket and CapitalIQ.
- Drafting and reviewing deal and case information for the firm’s website.
- Liaising with and submitting transaction and case information quarterly and annually to third party reporting agencies and league tables, such as LSEG, Thomson Reuters, mergermarket and Bloomberg.
- Liaising with and submitting transaction and case information monthly to external publications, such as Lexpert and American Lawyer.
- Maintaining transaction and case lists for various practices across the firm. Running ad-hoc reports for lawyers and Clients and Markets team members across the firm.
- Developing a sound knowledge of the database in order to accurately report matters involving clients and a variety of practices, industry areas and offices.
- Collaborating with lawyers to confirm confidentiality levels, obtain approvals for the external use of the firm’s reportable transaction and case information.
- Working with members of Accounting and Records Management to fill information gaps related to transaction and case information.
- Working with the Manager, Clients & Markets (Market Recognition) to identify efficiencies and improve the tracking and reporting processes related to transactions and cases.
Other
- Engaging with Business Development Cohorts on a regular basis to:
- gain a deeper understanding of relevant business lines, clients and growth opportunities;
- generate ideas; and
- share updates.
- Performing general research and administrative duties, as required.
- Supporting the Marketing Solutions team, including routing requests to the appropriate functional teams, assisting with lawyer profile updates, and/or other services as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
As our ideal candidate, you will distinguish yourself by the following profile:
- Undergraduate degree in marketing, communications or related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years relevant experience, preferably in a professional services firm.
- Proficiency with MS Office suite; ability to quickly learn and leverage new technology solutions. Experience working with Salesforce and SharePoint an asset.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Excellent organizational skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and set priorities with challenging deadlines.
- Ability to complete designated tasks in a systematic and logical way, with great attention to detail.
- Professional maturity including strong interpersonal skills, tact and discretion.
- Ability to work in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
