We are recruiting for a Bilingual Coordinator, Design & Marketing to join our team in our Montreal office. The successful candidate must have a minimum of 3 years in graphic design, visual communications, or a related field and will be responsible for  designing and templating visual assets, coordinating day-to-day design projects between internal teams and freelance designers, and managing visual identity and brand assets to ensure consistent application of the McCarthy Tétrault brand.

 

The employee in this position will be part of a team where they will be expected to work on communications and requests in English and French on a daily basis. The employee will interact with lawyers, professionals, and suppliers who understand and communicate only in French or only in English. The employee will also create complex, client-facing communication materials in both English and French. Since it is mandatory to publish all our communications in both official languages, it is necessary to have bilingual staff available at all times to respond to requests, scope the work, and produce communication materials in both English and French. Bilingualism (French and English) is therefore a requirement for this position.


As a Bilingual Coordinator, Design & Marketing, you will be:

 

Designing and Templating

  • Applying design expertise to the creation of templated visual assets for promotional and informational communications, including but not limited to info sheets, signage, white papers, website and email banners.

  • Creating social media graphics based on templates in collaborative design tools such as Canva.

  • Updating Word and PowerPoint templates used by all firm members.

  • Ensuring visual identity quality control of all visual assets and templates, including testing from a user perspective when required, prior to delivery.

Coordinating Design Projects

  • In collaboration with the Manager, Communications, Visual Identity, acting as a point of contact between our internal functional groups (such as Clients & Markets, HR, Professional Resources) and our team of freelance graphic designers in order to coordinate the workflow of day-to-day design projects.

  • Supporting our social media specialist in scheduling and posting content on the McCarthy Tétrault social media channels.

  • Participating in scoping requests and propose solutions and timelines for project delivery.

  • Allocating design team resources, adjusting workloads according to shifting priorities.

  • Crafting creative briefs for our team of freelance designers in collaboration with the Manager, Communications, Visual Identity.

  • Coordinating the end-to-end process for multiple creative design requests, ensuring each project is completed on schedule.

Shepherding Visual Identity & Brand Assets

  • Assisting firm members with best practices for using templates, understanding visual identity requirements, and finding visual assets.

  • In collaboration with the Marketing & Communications team, acting as visual identity ambassador to ensure the McCarthy Tétrault brand is properly presented on all touchpoints internally and externally.

  • Managing visual brand assets in our Digital Asset Management system.

  • Managing the collection of lawyers’ headshot photos and ensure that they are up to date, properly archived and adhere to our visual identity.

As our ideal candidate, you will distinguish yourself by the following profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or equivalent.
  • Two to three years of design experience.
  • Bilingualism French and English .
  • Excellent project management & problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of UX/UI design.
  • Understanding of universal accessibility requirements to create designs that are inclusive of all users. 
  • Empathy, ability to understand different perspectives in a business context.
  • Basic knowledge of video production requirements.
