We are recruiting for a Workday Analyst, Learning & Talent to join our team in our Calgary, Vancouver, or Toronto offices. The successful candidate must have a minimum 3 years of configuration experience in Workday in HCM, Talent Optimization & Performance and Learning and will be responsible for the centralized system administration of Workday Learning across the firm, as well as the configuration of the Talent & Performance module to suit the firms needs and alignment to business goals and strategy.  McCarthy Tétrault employees benefit from a hybrid work environment. 

 

As a Workday Analyst, Learning & Talent, you will be:

  • Acting as a Workday SME and support the delivery of Workday projects and improvements for Learning, Talent Optimization and Performance 
  • Administering and maintaining Workday LMS for the organization: collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate learning needs to system requirements and build optimal solutions in Workday. Ensuring consistency in the configuration and user experience of learning paths, course catalog, security roles, reports/dashboards, etc.
  • Supporting onboarding, CPD tracking and firm-wide learning campaigns.
  • Working with the Talent & Performance COE to configure Talent and Performance processes, templates and reports/dashboards, such as goal setting, employee and manager reviews, and calibration. 
  • Supporting testing activities with stakeholders to ensure they sign off on their relevant modules, for example: partnering on the creation of test scenarios, supporting the execution of testing, fixing defects and escalating risks, to eventual delivery in production
  • Managing Workday releases for Learning and Talent modules: reviewing release notes, identifying value-add functionality, supporting testing and eventual enablement in production.
  • Proactively identifying pain points and opportunities to improve the user experience, maximize automations, and ensuring data integrity, compliance and governance.
  • Creating, maintaining and generating standard and custom ad-hoc reports and dashboards to stakeholders, to meet business needs.
  • Providing day-to-day support to HR, IT, Professional Resources system users as a part of Tier 2 HRIS support to develop user guides, troubleshoot and resolve issues/bugs, data fixes, in order to ultimately provide the best support and experience to our end users.
  • Maintaining the Workday LMS Outlook integration. 

As our ideal candidate, you will distinguish yourself by the following profile:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Information Technology, or equivalent experience preferred.  
  • Minimum 3 years of configuration experience in Workday in HCM, Talent Optimization & Performance and Learning, related integrations and report writing, including experience supporting cross-functional learning and performance initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of people processes and best practices, and a passion for aligning technology solutions to business goals and user needs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven track record of successfully navigating technical challenges and finding meaningful solutions that enhance our digital people experience. 
  • Advanced Excel skills working with large data sets utilizing advanced formulas and functionality.
  • Excellent research and problem-solving skills and take the initiative for ongoing learning within Workday.
  • Demonstrates the qualities of a self-starter and the ability to take initiative to identify process improvements, manage issues, and resolve roadblocks independently. 
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work well and collaborate in a team environment. 
  • Excellent time management, project planning, and communication skills, both verbal & written
